Upper Body Workouts With Loop Resistance Bands

If you’re an experience weightlifter you’ve probably suffered from achy joints, boredom and the added frustration of having to skip the gym for a few weeks and losing some of your gains. With high quality loop resistance bands, such as the Athleema loop resistance bands, you’ll never have to worry about these issues again. Durable and versatile, they can be easily thrown in a suitcase or travel bag, ready to use them as and when you get the exercise bug. Another great thing is that you can replicate most of the best dumbbell and barbell movements seamlessly, allowing you to carry on with your training routine wherever you are.

Here are a few exercises you can use to keep your upper body strong and lean:

BENT-OVER ROW

Stand over the center of your Athleema loop resistance band with your feet shoulder-width apart. Bend slightly at the knees and hinge at the waist, keeping your hips back and your lower back straight. Grasp the band and pull it up towards your hips, squeezing your shoulder blades together until your elbows form a 90 degree angle. Lower and row for 10-12 reps.

PUSH-UPS

Loop resistance bands are a great way to add resistance to your push-ups. Get into the start position with the resistance band draped across your back. Place the band underneath your hands and push straight up until your arms fully extend. Lower back to the ground until your chest touches the floor. Repeat for 10-12 reps, or as many as you can manage.

BICEP CURL

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart with your feet placed over the middle of your Athleema loop resistance band. Bend slightly at the knees until you can grasp the resistance band with both hands. With palms facing towards you, curl the weight towards your chest until you feel your biceps contract. Slowly lower back to the ground and see how many reps you can do.

Combine the following movements in a circuit for 3 rounds, 3 times a week and your upper-body should start to tighten up.

The great thing about high quality exercise equipment such as the Athleema loop resistance bands is that they can be adjusted to suit any fitness level, whether you are just starting out or you are a seasoned pro. They also come with a lifetime guarantee for added peace of mind.

Remember these exercises next time you can’t get to the gym and there is no reason your fitness goals have to go off-track!
